Building Our condo is North of downtown Chicago and on the 35th floor of a 39 storey building (the white building just right of the taller grey one). The view is looking North West and was taken from a pier about 2 kilometers away. All our windows face East and have an unobstructed view of lake Michigan.

Looking South East from 35 floors up. It is summer (life guards are on the beach) and the wind is light and cooling from the North East. It is a perfect day to walk along the lake shore perhaps all the way to downtown Chicago which is about 13 kilometers away. Summer

Winter Winter in late afternoon. The divided highway is Lake Shore Drive which hugs the shore of Lake Michigan for over 25 kilometers passing through parks, harbors, museums, beaches and even a free public zoo. This beautiful park system was the vision of Daniel Hudson Burnham (1846-1912) who, along with other leaders, established the Burnham commission. The commission met after the great Chicago fire and proclaimed that the entire lake front (save for a bit along the Chicgo river) would be devoted only for public use.
